Full Time

Christian Community Cafe Manager.jpg

St Luke's Church in Thurnby is building a community cafe and centre in the heart of Thurnby Village in Leicestershire. The church is seeking a Community Cafe Manager who is passionate about giving back to the community, enjoys meeting people, and loves the idea of a community space that provides great hospitality. Previous cafe experience is not required, but a willingness to learn and a heart for helping those in need with great hospitality is essential.

The new cafe will be located in a refurbished building on the edge of Manor Park, and will offer a 50-cover cafe with adjoining rooms that can extend the space, as well as an aspect overlooking the park play area with additional tables outside. The cafe will be a positive hub for the whole community and will provide resources to help members of the local neighbourhood.

The role of the Community Cafe Manager will be to lead the launch of the cafe, develop a strong culture of friendliness and helpfulness, and ensure every customer enjoys great hospitality. The Manager will also play a key role in developing the menu and providing something for everyone in the neighbourhood.

The hours will be flexible around the opening hours of the cafe, and will require weekends and some evening working. The salary is £30,000 per year, and the role comes with a good holiday entitlement and benefits that fit with the key importance of the role. The opening is scheduled for October 2023, and the opportunity is huge to make a real difference in the community.

You can find the job role and job description linked below and if you are interested complete the basic application linked below.
