Introducing Cafe Fifty Five

For more than 10 years St Luke's Church in Thurnby has had a vision to create a place of welcome and community, of help and hope for all in the local area. This has taken the form of a Community Café and Centre that is currently being built next to Manor Park in Thurnby.

For the last few years we have been calling this project The HUB. Since giving it this name a number of other HUBs have popped up locally and we were keen for the Community Cafe to stand out.

On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June launched the new name "Cafe Fifty Five".

The names comes from Isaiah chapter Fifty Five where there is the invitation to,

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat..."
